Penderyn Myth
The Welsh Penderyn whisky called Myth from the Dragon series was matured in ex-Buffalo Trace casks and finished in ex-red wine casks. Seems very promising.

Tasting
Nose
Notes of chewing gum, grape and sugar dance harmoniously together, followed by a hint of molasses and light hay. A light floral note hovers over everything, while a gentle creamy note and light stone fruits round off the olfactory experience.
Palate
The first sip reveals a remarkable combination of grassy and hay-like flavours accompanied by floral notes. The texture is creamy and creamy, with a hint of sweetness and a delicate pear flavour that caresses the palate.
Finish
The finish of the Penderyn Myth is short and surprisingly characterised by an enormous bitterness from the oak. A slight dryness remains on the palate, while the finish is perceived as somewhat unexciting overall.
Verdicts
Marcel
Penderyn Myth is a smooth pleasure with a playful interplay of aromas that’s enjoyable, even though the finish, with its oak bitterness, slightly dampens the fun. For a relaxed dram in between, it’s definitely a good choice that shows character without becoming too complicated.
Sascha
Penderyn Myth impresses with a balanced creaminess and floral nuances, but loses harmony due to a brief, very bitter finish. Overall, it’s a solid composition that would have benefited from a stronger balance between fruitiness and oak.
