Tasting
Nose
The nose opens with an expressive and layered aroma profile led by creamy peach yogurt and ripe orchard fruit. Pronounced oak spice frames the sweetness beautifully, while toasted pecan and dried mandarin peel add depth and sophistication. A gently oily texture enhances the aromatic intensity, revealing a complex and characterful whisky experience typical of Nc'Nean Aon Amarone 2020/2025.
Palate
On the palate, vibrant fruit notes dominate with luscious peach yogurt at the forefront, delivering freshness and clarity. Subtle oak spice and nutty undertones provide structure, while the cask strength intensity creates a rich, mouth-coating texture. The balance between sweetness, spice, and fruit makes this dram both powerful and refined.
Finish
The finish is medium to long, warming and elegantly structured. Nuances of baking cocoa and fine oak gradually fade without bitterness, leaving behind a delicate note of ripe plum that adds finesse and a lingering sense of harmony.
Verdicts
Marcel
For a 5-year-old cask strength whisky, there is an impressive level of depth and complexity to discover. It strongly resembles the profile of the Arran 10 years, yet presents itself with greater intensity, higher alcohol strength, and a slightly less fruit-forward character.
Sascha
Intense, textured, and remarkably well-rounded, this whisky delivers an exceptional mouthfeel and a harmonious balance between fruit, oak, and sweetness. A convincing and character-driven dram throughout.
